Great diagnosis, having to throw away food is not a problem restaurant owners (or grocery stores, etc) are going to pay money, or even attention, to solve. And extremely perishable post-restaurant food is not the kind of food donation that food banks want, they want food that’s shelf stable and easy to handle by the pallet. So neither side of the marketplace works.

Here’s a result that I find interesting. According to the HBR it takes 42 hours for the average business to follow up with a new lead, and some shocking percentage of leads never get a call or email back.

And yet there’s also a lot of research to show leads convert at 2x, 5x, and more when followed up with faster. 5 min > 30 min >2 hours, etc.

I’ve been shocked at the number of businesses who look at these two results and don’t see a problem.
